Orion 05.501

Translink took delivery of 76 Orion V Suburban style buses in 2001. These buses are used on longer routes which travel from one city to another within the Greater Vancouver Area (particularly North-South Routes). There are a number of suburban style MCI Classics and New Flyer D40S that operated these services prior to the Orion V's. The Orion V's are powered by Detroit Diesel Series 50 EGR engines and Allison B500R6 transmissions. These Orion V's have Balios LED destination signs.
In 2008, Translink took delivery of 9 Orion V Suburban style buses. These buses are powered by Cummins ISM engines with ZF 6HP592C. They feature Luminator Horizon LED destination signs.
Translink's Orion V's are single door high floor units which are equipped with high back cloth seats, air conditioning, luggage racks, reading lights, personal air flow control, bike rack and wheelchair lift.
