Welcome to the Medicine Hat Transit gallery for New Flyer D40LF. Medicine Hat Transit operates 9 New Flyer D40LF's and these are the only series of buses in the fleet where no single bus from the series has been retired (June 2006). 1995 saw the first full size low floor bus arrive in Medicine Hat, numbered 770 and powered by a Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine. It was not until 2000 when the D40LF fleet was expanded by 2 more buses (740-741, Cummins ISC/Allison B400R). In 2002, 3 more D40LF's were put into service (742-744, Detroit Diesel Series 50EGR/Allison B400R). In 2005, 3 more D40LF's were put into service (745-747, Cummins ISL/Allison B400R). These buses offer low floor access and provisions for two wheelchairs. They are the newest buses in the fleet, with the exception of #770. #745-747 are also the first buses for MHT to use electronic destination signs.
