Lethbridge Transit New Flyer D40LF

Welcome to the Lethbridge Transit New Flyer D40LF gallery. A total of 28 New Flyer D40LF's are operated by Lethbridge Transit. The first of these buses were delivered in 1996; several more orders followed in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2006 (D40LFR). These buses are the only full sized low floor buses LA Transit operates, Lethbridge's fleet of low floors allows all regular runs to be serviced by a low floor bus. These buses introduced several new features to LA Transit for full sized buses such as 2 wheelchair positions, low floor kneeling capability, wheelchair ramp and digital destination signs, either flipdot or LED style. Rear door width on the 1996 and 2001 orders are of the narrower variation, like the Calgary Transit orders of these respective years; it is believed that LA Transit D40LF's on these orders were tag ons to existing Calgary Transit orders. The 1999, 2003 and 2005 orders have a wide rear door, like the Edmonton Transit System orders of these respective years; again it is believed that the LA Transit orders during these years were tag ons to existing Edmonton Transit System orders. The 2006 order is the redesinged D40LF, or better known as the D40LFR, they are the first in Alberta.
