Hong Kong Dennis Darts and Lances

The Dennis Lance and Dennis Dart are both single deck buses. Only one delivery for Lance's ever took place and it was for 24 for Kowloon Motor Bus in 1993. 10 of these have been transfered to Long Win Bus. However the Dennis Dart is the most popular of all the single deck models that run in Hong Kong. All the major bus companies including the former China Motor Bus run Darts. The Dart was introduced as a high floor single deck bus to Hong Kong in 1990 when Kowloon Motor Bus and Kowloon Canton Railway each took delivery of one demo. The Dennis Dart SLF (Super Low Floor) was introduced in the mid 90's. Around 250 Darts have been delivered to Hong Kong from 1990 to 1999. The Cummins B series engines of different power ratings are the standard for Dennis Darts and Allison AT545 transmissions are in most Darts as well. The 24 Dennis Lance's had a Cummins 6CT engine with a ZF 4HP500 transmission. All Dennis Darts and Lances delivered to Hong Kong have come with air conditioning. The Lances came with Walter Alexander bodies and Darts came with many bodies such as Plaxton, Northern Counties, Duple Metsec, Marshall and Carlyle. The Darts also came in lengths from 9.2m to 10.7m. The Lances are 11.7m long.
