2005 New Flyer D40LF 7891-7920/7921-7962

In 2005, Calgary Transit took delivery of 72 New Flyer D40LF's in two seperate orders, both orders had several cosmetic differences compared to the 2004 order. These buses feature the redesigned D40LF dashboard layout from New Flyer with the new speedometer and new layout for warning/indicator lights. The rear upper vent on the driver's side has also been slightly modified from the 2004 model. Also the 2005 model feature the new silver New Flyer logo. These buses are also powered by the Cummins ISL with an Allison B400R5 transmission. These buses have the Luminator Horizon LED destination signs and a rear mounted ThermoKing heater/cooler unit. The first buses from the first order of 30 entered service in mid April. The second order of 42 started arriving in November of 2005. The second order features inner wall heating and a small access panel for a tow connection on the front.
