1995 New Flyer D40LF 7551-7591

In 1995, Calgary Transit took delivery of 41 New Flyer D40LF's. These units were second generation, therefore no longer had the vent on the front panel. These buses are powered by Detroit Diesel's new Series 50 engine with Allison's B400R4 transmission. This order set the interior template for all future CT D40LF's. Seating capcity is 39 on these units as opposed to 36 on the 1993 units. The rear doors on these buses are narrower than those on the 1993's and set the standard for all future CT D40LF orders. 40 of these buses are still active, 7563 was destroyed in a fire during some minor repair work. This order of D40LF's is the perfered unit for full body vinyl wraps. There are other D40LF's that carry special full body vinyl wraps. These buses have Vultron III destination signs.
